We are here for you in emergencies and provide veterinary care for sick animals, while also placing a strong emphasis on the preventive health of your herd.
For animals kept on a small or hobby scale, we are often called upon to perform surgical procedures such as castrations or hoof trimming. We also provide advice on appropriate nutrition, husbandry and housing. Faecal examinations are an important part of preventing gastrointestinal worm infections. Based on faecal egg counts, we can provide appropriate treatment and grazing advice. We also pay particular attention to zoonotic diseases on farms that are open to the public, such as petting farms and care farms.
We provide tailored routine herd health programmes for both dairy and beef farms. These can include fertility management using ultrasonography and vaccinations, as well as herd-level animal health advice. Your milk recording data can be accessed through the PIR-DAP system to support this work.
Since 1 January 2012, every livestock farmer in the Netherlands keeping more than five cattle has been required to maintain a one-to-one relationship with an accredited cattle veterinarian. In addition, a valid Farm Treatment Plan and Farm Health Plan must be maintained on the farm; for dairy farmers, the latter takes the form of the Cow Compass (Koekompas). Our veterinarians are IKM-trained and certified to prepare these documents for you.
All medicines supplied by our practice are recorded in Medirund. Within 14 days of delivery, you will receive the required medication log form by email.
